HOW CLEVER are these cupcakey superstar saddles?!! Genius pieces of art they are! Being very grateful for my new Stubben saddles.
You know I’m the last rider to say the magic is in the gear, I don’t believe it is, but the more you ask from your horse the more the tack needs to support you both. Really. I’ve now been riding in Stübben’s saddles Euphoria, Centurion and Virginia since the summer, & these innovative, custom made super saddles surely does know how to support performance like they should! I’m proud to say my horses are developing better then ever, and so am I. My horses are all freer then before, both over the back and in the shoulders, and I’m more comfortable and balanced which allows me to use my seat better – which goes back to free up my horses. Etc. It’s a goooood feeling!
On a dressage saddle it’s important that you as a rider gets supported, both in the size of the seat (if it’s too big it’s like trying to steer a bathtub. Not easy.) as well as for your legs and knees (it makes life easier if they are supported to stay still and not float around too much). & what’s probably even more important is that your horse is supported. You want there to be the exact right angle in the tree so it doesn’t pinch your horse over the withers or back, and you want it to be flocked with the right amount of filling so it stays horizontal on your horse. Without tilting anyone of you in any direction. Luckily, my saddles fill all those criteria’s plus a dozen more. For instance the tree moves WITH THE HORSE. It’s incredible what a difference it makes. In my former saddles I had a trouble to really feel what was going in my horse’s backs. I like to be really close to my horses when I ride. & since the Stübben ones move with your horse that whole brick wall that was between us is gone. Ah, I meeean, the difference!
I just couldn’t recommend them more. Please find more on Stübben’s website, and let me know if you’d be interested.
Also! I’ve always suffered soar seat bones and Stübben’s ‘Biomex’ extra padding, and the solution with no seams in the seat, has deleted that problem completely. So clever! Very grateful.
Thank you Stübben <3

SAY HI TO those new and b e a u t i f u l little miracle makers! I’m very happy to from now on only use those organic and healing horse care products by Padoc & Pace, derived from nature – in Sweden. Made of the finest raw materials with exquisite properties without chemical substances and additives. The production is made in their own factory on the west coast of Sweden, under constant manual control and handcrafted processes. To ensure and maintain a superb level of quality and functional properties. I love it! & totally agree with their believe that nature provides the functional tools for our horses. Minimising the industrial influences in production, allowing natural and organic benefits and components to shine through.
The Hoof Oil <3 with balancing properties of organic ingredients like wheat germ oil, jojoba oil, black cumin oil, olive oil and lanolin will collaborate to create the perfect cure for hoofs in need of extra attention. You can use before a show, on a daily basis and even underneath the hoof when you want it to stay away from snow or mud!
The Lip Balm is my new obsession. & my horse’s! A organic mix of Shea butter, Jojoba oil, Clove bud oil and Olive oil nourishes, soften and moisturizes the thickest of skins. I used to use vaseline in the corner of my horse’s mouth. Ha, feels like putting on plastic on your horse after using this! It prevents wounds and abrasions in mouth corners, leg squeeze areas and other sensitive and vulnerable parts. Can be used on wounds and scabs as healing and to prevent scarring.

WHEN THE PRESSURE arises or you’re going for a competition, try to play a mind game with yourself: make the decision that you’re gonna win over your body and negative emotions by making sure you get though your competition completely without a negative thought or action of self doubt. It IS possible. Instead of thinking of it as a pressured competition, rather see it as a challenge and opportunity to grow.

I’M SO HAPPY & proud of super ginger Nibbles!! We competed at Belmoredean on Thursday, where she gave our best feel that far and got home with a 2nd. Yesterday we finished of the Hickstead season, with an even better test – and a Win just under 70%!
Ah, I’m so proud of her. At home she’s such a sweet cuddle, she’s developing so steadily, and when I ask her to step up the game she really knows how to take the stage. It’s rare to have all of this at the same time. (& yes I’m remembering to be grateful because AH it’s fun! <3)
Lots of love to Nibbles owner Caroline Edgeley for letting me develop this horse. & to Equestrian Stockholm, Stübben, Longines and Padoc & Pace for making us both look and feel on TOP. Thank you!
EVERY ATHLETE and every dancer loosens up his muscles before starting to work. And oh how important this is for the horse, which in all his movements and actions must not only bend to the will of anpther living creature but also carry him. As the sculptor’s clay must be soft before he starts to shape it, so must the horse be relaxed both in body and mind before he is ready to be trained by his rider.
Kind reminder to tick of suppleness before you ask for harder work/contact/impulsion/collection!
Very happy to give you the recipe through The Equestrian Retreat.
